On 28 January 2025, ZSSK announced a public tender for the conversion of 10 Class Bmeer cars into couchette cars.

For the start of the 2025 timetable, ZSSK in cooperation with UZ has introduced a new pair of R 961/964 express trains on the route Košice - Čop with the possibility of connecting to/from Kyiv.

Under this heading, ZSSK announced on 20 January 2025 that it had launched a public tender for new sleeping carriages.

On 15 January 2025, ZSSK announced a public tender for the purchase of two modern EMUs for the Bratislava - Žilina line with the possibility of exercising an option for two more units. 

As we described earlier, ZSSK will acquire 15 more Vectrons on lease from RSL over the next two years. The first two of these, 193 025 and 032, were taken over on 5 December 2024 and presented to the public the following day.

On 26 September, RS Lease and Siemens Mobility have signed a framework agreement for the delivery of up to 65 Vectrons.

On 7 October 2024, the process of withdrawal of the Class 350 locomotives was symbolically started in the Bratislava hlavné (main station) locomotive depot.

ZSSK continues to modernise its fleet. On 15 February 2024 at 10.30 the first KISS EMU was put into regular operation at Nové Zámky in the presence of representatives of the Slovak Ministry of Transport and the management of Stadler and ZSSK.

On 20 December 2023, ZSSK took over three of the four KISS EMUs.

After the tests at the VUZ Velim centre, unit 561.002 was transported from Velim to Kúty in Slovakia on 2 August 2023.

On 6 June 2023 at the Rail Business Days in Ostrava, Stadler and ZSSK presented the first six-car double-deck KISS EMU of the Class 561 to the public.

ŽOS Vrútky presented in Berlin a Bdmpz second class coach for Slovak railways. The latter has ordered in total 17 cars of this type.

Another novelty from Stadler are the Class 561 double-deck EMUs, of which four were ordered by ZSSK in December 2021.

On 17 April 2023, KISS 561.001 for ZSSK arrived at the VUZ Velim test centre.

On 23 December 2022, ZSSK ordered five more Panter EMUs.
