A batch of 30 Class 99 bi-mode Co’Co’ locomotives is being built by Stadler Valencia for Beacon Rail and GB Railfreight, and of of them will be shown at InnoTrans.
As expected, the recent order for ten EURODUALs was followed by another contract for EURO9000s, concluded on 15 January 2024.
On 27 December 2023, European Loc Pool ordered an additional 10 new EURODUAL locomotives.
Alpha Trains and Stadler have announced a contract for the purchase of 12 EURO9000 locomotives with scheduled delivery in 2025 and 2026.
Following the first three locomotives handed over this June to Rail Force One, RTB CARGO and HSL Logistik, European Loc Pool has leased four more EURO9000 dual-mode locomotives.
During June, European Loc Pool handed over the first three EURO9000 locomotives for lease.
ELP successfully tested, commissioned and then handed over the first two EURO9000 locomotives to its customers.
In the coming weeks, one of the EURODUALs will make test runs in several Balkan countries as part of the type approval process there.
The first EURO9000 is due to hit the track soon, as ELP expects to deliver the first three locomotives.
Just in May 2023, five years have passed since the founding of European Loc Pool.
Following the order secured last year to build and supply as many as 30 Class 99 bi-mode Co’Co locomotives, Stadler has signed on 13 April 2023 a contract with GB Railfreight to provide full service for this rolling stock.
On 13 March 2023, ERA issued approval for EURO9000 locomotives. It is valid for operation in Germany, and a week later approval for operation in Austria was issued, in the standard form of an Extended Area of Use (XAU).
On 17 January 2023 Stadler and Havelländische Eisenbahn (HVLE) signed a contract for the delivery of three additional EURODUAL locomotives.
Shortly before Christmas, European Loc Pool placed a firm order for a further 10 EURODUAL locomotives, breaking the hundred-unit threshold.
