Germany’s first use of the Mireo Plus B
On 8 April 2024 the first four Mireo Plus B trains from Siemens Mobility started regular passenger service, marking a premiere in Germany.
Flexible leasing model for regional trains: Smart Train Lease
On 14 February 2024 Siemens Mobility announced that it has founded the subsidiary Smart Train Lease GmbH to enable customers to flexibly supplement their fleets with rented Mireo Smart battery, hydrogen, and electric units.
Mireo regional and long-distance trains for ÖBB
On 19 January 2024 ÖBB has ordered the first 70 Mireo EMUs from the framework agreement for up to 540 units.

On 14 December 2023 Siemens Mobility announced that it has won an order for the delivery of 75 Mireos for the Mitteldeutsches S-Bahn-Netz 2025+.
All Mireo Plus H trains for NEB have arrived at the PCW
Siemens Mobility has built seven two-car Mireo Plus H trains for Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn (NEB). The last HMU in the batch left the factory in Krefeld on 30 October 2023 and was transferred to the Siemens Mobility test center in Wegberg-Wildenrath.
First Mireo Smart on test
On 22 November 2023, the first Mireo Smart EMU celebrated its official rollout at the Krefeld works.
