Up to 540 Mireos for ÖBB

Siemens Mobility has won the tender for a framework agreement to deliver up to 540 single-deck EMUs for ÖBB. The trains will be a further development of the Mireo platform „with numerous innovations, low energy consumption, and a high level of passenger comfort and convenience“. The framework agreement is worth more than 5 billion EUR and has a term of ten years. The first trains are scheduled to start passenger service in 2028.
