Almost exactly one year later, Praha main station (and the Czech railways) experienced another milestone in the ComfortJet project: while on Tuesday 9 April 2024 the first train, the then temporarily configured eight-car unit No. 002, was officially presented here for the first time, on Monday 14 April 2025 the complete nine-car unit No. 010 ran from the same station for its first passenger service.
It was IC 517 "Ostravan" Praha hl. n. (19.31) - Bohumín (22.50). The same ComfortJet set was returning on the IC 510 "Ostravan" Bohumín (9.01) - Praha hl.n. (12.19). On that date, ČD had two nine-car NMUs, namely 009 and 010, which were put into test operation with passengers.
Michal Krapinec, ČD CEO, commented: "Last night, the first passengers were able to ride in the complete ComfortJet comprising of nine cars, including the new restaurant car and the 1st class driving trailer. This is an important milestone for us and the manufacturer in bringing twenty ComfortJets into regular service. After a test phase on the Czech lines, the new trains will also be heading to Germany, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary in their complete configuration later this year."
The ComfortJets are still only operated in a push mode, while the Class Afmpz driving trailers are not authorised for a push mode so far, but passengers already have all services on board, including those in a restaurant car.
