Batch-built driving trailers for ComfortJets in Ostrava

Since September, ComfortJet NMUs have been deployed on the SC 240/241 "Košičan" Prague - Ostrava - Košice and EC 178/175 and EC 176/177 "Berliner" Prague - Berlin - Prague services. These are eight-car rakes for the time being, as the Class Afmpz and BRmpz are awaited and should start operation sometime during 2025.

In June this year, final assembly of the batch-built driving trailers began at the Siemens Mobility works in München, starting with the Afmpz 80-90 009, followed by the Afmpz 80-90 010. Both cars arrived in Ostrava on 6 December 2024. Meanwhile, the final assembly of the batch-built restaurants was also started in July, this time at the Škoda Vagonka factory in Ostrava, with the 85-90 009.
