Metrans, the rail company of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), has expanded its Slovakian hub terminal in Dunajská Streda by around five hectares.

On 14 February 2024, after the completion of standard administrative matters, the locomotives 383.439 and 440 were put into service, the last two of the next ten of METRANS' own Vectrons.

19 February 2024 - Metrans, the rail subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), has once again invested in the expansion of its European network and acquired 100 % of the Adria Rail Group, which operates in Serbia and Croatia.

METRANS started to use its own railway undertaking METRANS ADRIA in Slovenia.

METRANS hired three Vectrons in the A35 variant from Akiem, thereby incorporating in its fleet locomotives capable of operating in Italy and the entire Balkans for the first time.

On 5 September 2022, METRANS started operating a line connecting two of its own terminals - in Šenov near Havířov (industrial Ostrava area) and in the industrial area of ​​Upper Silesia (Dąbrowa Górnicza) - with the DCT terminal in Gdańsk.

One of those trains, whose departure from China to Europe via the Caspian and Black Seas was accompanied by media attention, arrived at the destination station, this time in a complete silence.

Following a test program at the VUZ Velim centre (see here and here), the required tests on the public railway network were started with the locomotive ET43-001 (3 260 003).

On 1 December 2021, METRANS took over locomotives 383.413 and 414, which form part of the ten-strong option from 2020.

On 21 - 23 October 2021, Vectron 193 901, which was purchased from Siemens by Správa železnic, was transported from München to the Czech Republic.

On 26 August 2021, the first two Vectrons of the second batch ordered by METRANS left München.

More than ten years ago, a RAILPOOL locomotive hauled a block train for METRANS for the first time, travelling the approximately 1,100 km long route between Praha-Uhříněves and Rotterdam.

Metrans has fitted its entire 3,000 container wagon fleet with what are known as „whispering“ (composite) brakes.

Following TransContainer - Slovakia’s withdrawal from hire of the TKD Dobrá container terminal, it was hired by BULK TRANSSHIPMENT SLOVAKIA (BTS).
