ZSSK took over the KISSes

On 20 December 2023, ZSSK took over three of the four KISS EMUs. These Class 561 units are intended for regional transport and were financed with funds from OPII (Operational Programme Integrated Infrastructure).

They should start operation on the Bratislava - Trenčín and Bratislava - Nové Zámky lines in the first half of 2024, once all administrative requirements have been met. Currently, the KISSs are dislocated in the new Nové Zámky depot. Train 561.101 is to be delivered during 2024, by November at the latest, due to damage caused by an accident at the VUZ Velim test centre in July 2023.
