Accident of (another) KISS at VUZ Velim circle

During the test runs with unit 4736 103 for ÖBB on the night of 11/12 February 2025 on the large test circle at Velim, the coupling in the connection to the VUZ measuring cars was damaged. As a consequence, the measuring section of the test train hit the KISS, whereupon its two cars (the end car 4736 103 and the adjacent intermediate  4736 203) derailed.

The VUZ measuring cars and the Vectron 193 688 ČD/RSL braking locomotive were also damaged. There were no injuries to persons and the causes of the accident are under investigation. Removal of the vehicles began on Wednesday afternoon, 12 February.

A similar incident happened in April 2020 with a PKP IC "Pendolino" during trials in Germany. The damage to the KISS at the VUZ Velim test centre occurred in July 2023, when it was a unit for ZSSK.
