On 21 January 2021, the main station in Szczecin saw the official handover of the first two Impuls 2 EDMUs built by Newag for Województwo Zachodniopomorskie.

On 8 April 2020, Alan Beroud, president of the board of Szybka Kolej Miejska, and Zbigniew Konieczek, Newag president of the board, have signed a contract for the supply of 21 second-generation Impuls EMUs.
