Over the weekend of 2 and 3 July 2022, Alstom and NS presented the Intercity Next Generation (ICNG) train to the Dutch public at Rotterdam central station. Alstom is supplying NS with 79 Coradia Stream EMUs with a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The first trains are expected to run on the Dutch network before the end of this year. Initially, the ICNG trains were scheduled to start passenger service in December 2020.
20 additional Coradia Stream EMUs, which will also be able to run in Belgium (ICNG-B), have been ordered by NS, too. We asked Alstom:
- how many ICNG EMU were built so far?
- how many of them are expected to start passenger service this year?
- when the 79th ICNG is expected to be delivered?
- is the first ICNG-B already on test?
We are waiting for an answer.
