First Class 654 EMUs With RJ In Service

On Sunday 11 December, when the 2023 timetable began to be valid, RegioJet ÚK put the first of the Class 654 EMUs into operation. The Czech railway authority Drážní úřad issued a permit for test operation with passengers, and so the first three of these trains could be deployed on Line U7 Děčín - Ústí nad Labem and U5 Ústí nad Labem - Bílina - Most. The new units will also run one pair of services to Žatec and Štětí on weekdays.

At present, six 654s are in the Czech Republic. The entire fleet is to be in introduced into operation at the end of January 2023, after all RJ drivers have been trained.
