AVLO to Galicia

During the pre-election campaign in Zamora on 17 July 2023, MITMA Minister Raquel Sánchez announced that Renfe would start up its low cost AVLO services on the Galician high speed line in 2024 - no specific date was given. Four train pairs between Madrid and Ourense are envisaged.

Meanwhile, the first variable gauge Avrils are to enter service on this line (and on other routes, such as Madrid to Gijón and Madrid to Irún) in November 2023, resulting in reduced journey times, more services and increased capacity.
