AVLO To Alacant

On 27 March 2023 Renfe is to expand its network of low cost AVLO services. Tickets for the new Madrid to Alacant service went on sale on 6 March, the yield management single fare starting at 7 EUR, rising according to demand. The two train pairs will provide 1,436 seats per day on this route

Renfe's next objective is to start up AVLO services from Madrid to Málaga and Sevilla (on both routes one train pair daily) in June. These trains will call at all principal stations en route - Ciudad Real, Puertollano, Córdoba, Puente Genil and Antequera. So far no timetables have been published, and it has not been clarified whether these will be two separate train services, or operated with two Class 112s running in multiple to and from Córdoba, thus making capacity and access charge savings. So far AVLO services operate between Madrid and Barcelona, and between Madrid and València.
