On 19 March 2025, Alstom announced it will supply the Eurométropole de Strasbourg and the Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS) with 27 new-generation Citadis trams that will reinforce CTS fleet from 2026. This order is part of the eight-year framework agreement signed in April 2023 between Eurométropole de Strasbourg and Alstom, worth a maximum of 250 million EUR. An initial batch of 12 trams was ordered in 2023 and will be delivered progressively from spring 2025.
With a length of 45 m and a width of 2.40 m, the new Citadiese will have eight double-leaf doors measuring 1.30 m on each side, including at the ends. They will have a capacity of 286 passengers and will be equipped with fully glazed doors, enhancing passenger comfort and safety.
