On 1 February 2021, TMH International has welcomed its newly-formed German team of experienced mechatronics engineers, industrial electronics technicians and managers to kick-off maintenance activities for Go-Ahead Bayern.
On 1 December 2020, the latter company awarded TMH International a 12-year maintenance contract for its fleets of 78 EMUs. Both fleets will operate on behalf of the BEG and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport from December 2021 and from December 2022 until December 2034 on several routes in southern Bavaria and neighboring Baden-Württemberg.
Until the start of operations on the Allgäu network in December 2021, the TMH Germany team will receive extensive training in light and heavy maintenance in Augsburg. Starting this summer, additional employees will join the team.
For this project, the company plans to hire a total of 42 managers and technicians and will invest around 40 million EUR in the region in the construction of a new maintenance facility in Langweid. Preparatory land works have already started. Once completed, this depot will be one of the most modern in Germany. Until then, the new employees will be trained in a rented depot in the neighbourhood „Bahnpark Augsburg“.
