First T coaches for RZD

In 2024, TVZ produced the first Model 61-4533 coach in gabarit T (T loading gauge) with enlarged dimensions, intended for further acceptance, certification and operational tests. TMH developed and manufactures the gabarit T cars for RZD with the aim of greater transport capacity, greater passenger comfort, better operating characteristics and a higher portion of domestic components.

In contrast to the existing 1-BM loading gauge, the length of the T cars has been increased by 73 cm and the width by 28 cm. The corridor will be 9 cm wider, the sleeping compartments will be 15 cm longer and one passenger compartment has been added.

Production of six Model 61-4533 prototypes is underway at the current stage of the project, with four bodyshells already completed and two more under production. In December 2024, work was underway on the final assembly of the cars. The bodyshell of the first car has successfully passed the static strength acceptance tests. Preliminary and certification tests were then started on them. In order to confirm the required characteristics, the prototypes will be subjected to the necessary tests in various weather and operating conditions.

Once all the tests are completed and the certificate of conformity of the coaches with the requirements of the TR TS 001/2011 Technical regulations of the Customs Union is obtained, they will be handed over to the RZD. In the near future, the gabarit T cars will become the basis of the  operator's fleet renewal programme.
