More RegioFoxes for ČD

On 7 November 2023, ČD ordered another 30 RegioFox DMUs, worth over 3 billion CZK (over 120 million EUR). Thus, ČD has already ordered a total of 106 of these Class 847 units from PESA Bydgoszcz for more than 10 billion CZK (around 400 million EUR).

"At the request of public transport customers, we continue to renew passenger trains on non-electrified regional lines. For the fourth time, we are therefore using a framework contract with the Polish company for a maximum of 160 RegioFoxes and we have ordered another 30 trains. We will replace other outdated diesel-powered units that no longer provide sufficient quality and we will offer passengers more comfort and more services they require," says Michal Krapinec, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of ČD.

28 of the 30 new Class 847s ordered will be dislocated in the Rakovník depot and will serve non-electrified lines mainly in the western part of the Central Bohemia Region, where they will replace mainly RegioNova units and partly also Class 810 and 809 railcars.
