More DOSTO EMUs For Transitio

On 25 August 2021, AB Transitio, Tåg i Bergslagen and Stadler signed a contract to purchase seven additional DOSTO EMUs. Transitio will rent the newest four-car DOSTOs to Tåg i Bergslagen, their delivery is scheduled for winter 2022/23. Stadler has already sold 53 Type KISS trains in Sweden.

Maja Rapp, Tåg i Bergslagen CEO, said: “After trying the DOSTOs, I can state that they run smoothly and nicely even on older tracks where our other vehicles run significantly worse. The fact that TiB will have the same vehicles like Mälardalstrafik simplifies services both for passengers and operators, which have an increased opportunity for coordination of operation and maintenance.”

The first order for DOSTO for Sweden came in 2016 for 33 sets. It was followed by others in 2018 and 2020. Stadler has now sold 60 of these units in this market, and more than 420 KISSes in 11 countries, including Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Luxembourg.
