ComfortJet: training of employees started

On 4 March 2024, ČD, in cooperation with the Siemens Mobility and Škoda Group production consortium, started training employees on ComfortJet non-traction multiple units (NMUs). There are currently four sets available, which have different ordering according to the planned tests and the other tasks they are destined to perform. One of these trains is now stabled at the Praha Jih (south) depot for training of ČD staff.

This week we the operator is starting the training of the technicians who will take care of the new units in the depot. They already have considerable experience in maintaining railjet and InterJet NMUs. This will be followed in the coming weeks by training for drivers, conductors and other operational professions.

Each training has a theoretical part in the classroom and a practical part in the train. In the first phase, during March, approximately one hundred employees of these professions, mainly from Praha, will attend the training. Hundreds more employees from various regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia will undergo training in the following months as the ComfortJet units are gradually put into trial operation.

ČD has ordered 20 nine-car ComfortJets. This year, it is planned to start test operation with passengers using eight NMUs in temporary arrangement without a driving trailer and restaurant car. It will be possible to temporarily couple older cars, such as a first class car or restaurant car, to the units from both sides. The test operation should take place on the Praha - Bohumín, Bohumín - Praha - Františkovy Lázně and Praha - Berlin lines.
