ComfortJet deliveries continue

On the occasion of InnoTrans, ČD deployed for the first time a non-traction ComfortJet unit, namely 004, on the EC "Berliner" services on 24 and 25 September. Starting on Sunday 29 September, the ComfortJets 004 and 005 were deployed on the EC 178/175 and EC 176/177 "Berliner" Praha - Berlin services, operated in cooperation with DB.

At the time of the InnoTrans, ČD had four ComfortJets (002 - 005) in service, and by mid-October, the Praha Jih (South) depot already had six sets (002 - 007) in service. Of these, only three have been in passenger service, the fourth serves as a backup, and the remaining two NMUs are used for training of DB staff.

On 24 October 2024, unit 008 departed from the Škoda Vagonka works, heading to the VUZ Velim test centre to perform the obligatory last technical-safety test run (TBZ, technicko-bezpečnostní zkouška) at a train's maximum speed +10 %, prior to be handed over to ČD.
