Class ET43 Dragon On Test At Velim

On 30 November 2020, ET43-001, which is destined for PKP Cargo, arrived in the VUZ Velim test centre. ET43-001 has already been tested on the Źmigród circuit this year.
It is the first of a batch of 24 Class ET43 dual-voltage (3 kV DC + 25 kV 50 Hz) Dragon 2 locomotives, which the Polish state freight operator ordered in September 2019 together with seven Class ET26 machines for 3 kV DC only, but fitted with a Last Mile diesel.
The dual-voltage Dragons are to be authorised for operation in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which is the reason for their stay at Velim.
