Accident at the VUZ Velim test centre

On 18 July 2023 at 14.45 h the vehicles during the shunting manouevres (the VUZ locomotive with TRAXXes) collided with a parked KISS on the VUZ test circuit. As a result of the collision, four vehicles were derailed and the leader of shunting duty was injured. The damage was preliminarily estimated at 80 million CZK (around 3.3 million EUR). The Czech Railway Inspectorate (Drážní inspekce) has launched its own investigation into this incident.
