27 Additional Desiro ML EMUs For ÖBB

On 8 March 2023 Siemens Mobility Austria has received an order from ÖBB for additional 27 three-car Desiro ML EMUs. Their delivery is scheduled to start in 2025. The Class 4746 trains with a maximum speed of 160 km/h will be fitted Siemens’s Type Trainguard ETCS OBU. They will be 75 m long, with a seating capacity of around 220 and spaces for up to 24 bicycles.

With this order, ÖBB is continuing to renew its fleet and investing in modern trains for domestic service. ÖBB previously ordered 246 Desiro ML trains and over 200 of them are already in operation.
