X’Trapolis Cityduplex At Velim

One of the first X’Trapolis Cityduplex EMUs is present at the Velim test circuit now. Under the framework contract worth 3.75 billion EUR, 255 new trains were ordered by Île-de-France Mobilités (IDF Mobilités, formerly STIF, Syndicat des transports d'Île-de-France) from a consortium formed by Alstom and Bombardier, as announced in January 2017. At the same moment, the firm order for 56 six-car Class Z 58000 EMUs and 15 seven-car Class Z 58500 EMUs was signed.

The new X’Trapolis Cityduplexes will be used on the RER D and E lines of the Île-de-France (greater Paris) network, entering service from 2021 onwards.
