On 10 March 2021, ELL Vectrons 193 759 and 193 766 left Austria. NS is hiring these for the purpose of haulage Amsterdam - Berlin Intercity services and the new Nightjet services to Amsterdam.
The latter was originally to be introduced with the December 2020 timetable change as another branch to the existing Wien/Innsbruck - Hamburg/Brussels services, with NS International hauling the train on the Amsterdam - Köln section.
However, in a view of the current epidemiological measures, the Nightjet international services were canceled and ÖBB plans to restart them between 28 April and 1 May. This also applies to the Amsterdam route, which is now expected to depart from Austria on 28 April 2021 for the first time. Concerning the Amsterdam - Berlin Intercity trains, current statement of NS is that "there is no more information about the use for these".
