On 29 June 2023 the newest shunting locomotive TEM23-0002 built at BMZ has been sent to RZD for operational testing, to the Bryansk II depot. The tests will last for three months. During this period, the functioning of all equipment, assemblies and components will be tested under real conditions. During the trial operation, the locomotive will also be monitored and technical support will be provided by specialists from BMZ, TMH Engineering and LokoTech.
At the end of the supervised operation, the TEM23-0002 will return to the BMZ to analyse the work performed and the demonstrated technical characteristics of the locomotive. The data obtained will be taken into account in the subsequent operation of the batch-built locomotives.
BMZ received a certificate for batch production of TEM23 at the end of 2022. To date, two locomotives have been assembled. TEM23-0001 was handed over to Severstal in May for a controlled operation. The third locomotive is currently being assembled.
