Second 3TE28 built and tested

On 7 July 2023, 3TE28-0002, built at the BMZ, arrived at the VNIKTI testing facility in Kolomna to undergo acceptance and certification tests. 

The first 3TE28 locomotive built at BMZ in 2022 has been at the same testing facility since January 2023 and it continues the acceptance and certification tests. The second machine was completed in May 2023 and is stated to be built entirely from domestic components. Over the next months, both locomotives will be tested simultaneously, this also including testing of running in multiple. Completion of the tests is scheduled for September 2023.
