Preparations Of OŽ For The Start Of Passenger Operation

For 16 February 2022, it is planned to start passenger operation on the rack-and-pinion Štrba - Štrbské Pleso line in Vysoké Tatry. The new ZSSK's Class 495.95 EMUs, which are capable of running on both the adhesion and rack railway, will run on this line, which was completely modernised in 2020 - 21.

Before that, however, the OŽ line had to be cleared of snow, for which a dual-power multipurpose locomotive 485.951 was used on 11 February 2022, together with a new snow plough 592.001.
