PKP IC Pendolino On Test In The Czech Republic

posted on 29th Jun 2020 17:32

Between 29 June and 6 July 2020 the PKP IC Pendolino will be tested in the Czech Republic. It is ED250-001, which was tested in Germany in early April, where an accident near München occurred (the official accident report has not been issued yet). The train was repaired in Alstom's depot and maintenance base in Warszawa (WUT, Warsztat Utrzymania Technicznego).

The new test runs represent an obligatory 12,500 km test on Czech Republic railway infrastructure, without passengers. The test covers all ATP systems valid in Czech Republic (MIREL VZ1 and ETCS) among others. The Polish Pendolino will run on the Bohumín - Přerov - Nedakonice and Přerov - Choceň lines (fed by 3 kV DC), both on the main Czech railway corridors. The operator of the test trains is ČD.
