More ForCity Trams For Cottbus

The Cottbusverkehr GmbH (CV), which signed a contract with the Škoda Group for the delivery of seven trams in 2021, decided to exercise its option and ordered 15 more of these ForCity Plus three-car unidirectional vehicles on 7 December 2022. The original tender for the delivery of the new trams for Brandenburg was jointly launched by three cities - Frankfurt/Oder, Brandenburg an der Havel and Cottbus - which required almost identical vehicles capable of operating in three very different environments.

This was a very unique procurement and Mike Niebling, President of Region West, Škoda Group, adds: "The confirmation of an option is always a strong signal to us that the partnership with the customer is on solid footing. This year at InnoTrans we presented our own anti-collision system for rolling stock, which transport companies have been calling for already some time. I am therefore convinced that our presence on the German market will continue to strengthen".
