Gama DualPower at the Żmigród circuit

On the OETD IK Żmigród test circuit, a dual-mode locomotive prototype produced by PESA Bydgoszcz is undergoing driving tests. The machine with the designation 111DE-001 was completed and started the first tests already in 2022. Subsequently, in October 2022, PKP Intercity ordered a series of 16 of these locomotives, with deliveries from April 2025. It is a design combining electric traction in operation under 3 kV voltage system (with output 2,800 kW) and diesel traction (with output 1,560 kW). According to the inscription on the frame of the locomotive, its weight is 87.5 tons.
