Class 2ES5S Prototype Finished Siberian Tests

On 2 December 2019 TMH announced that the NEVZ-built Class 2ES5S prototype locomotive successfully finished tests on the Zapadno-Sibirskaya doroga (West Siberian Railway). The locomotive with an asynchronous traction equipment was tested on the line between Artyshta-II and Altayskaya (southeast of Novosibirsk) hauling heavy freight trains weighing of up to 7,100 t. It is expected that by the end of 2019 the Class 2ES5S will be awarded a certificate of conformity, which will allow it to start the regular service on the RZD network.
