Certificate of Conformity for the Class 3TE28

On 21 November 2023, Transmashholding received a certificate of conformity with the requirements of the Customs Union Technical Regulation 001/2011 "On the safety of railway rolling stock" for its new Class 3TE28 freight locomotive. The document allows it to operate on the railways of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.

The first two examples were built at BMZ in 2022. The locomotive is equipped with the powerful 18-9DGM diesel engine, which was developed by specialists of the TMH Engine Engineering Centre and is manufactured at Kolomensky zavod (the Kolomna plant). At the end of October, the locomotive was awarded the "O1" designation, confirming its readiness for batch production, based on the results of acceptance and certification tests. The volume of the introductory batch is set at 400 locomotives in three- or two-section design (2TE28).
