On 19 November 2020, Bombardier Transportation announced that its Chinese joint venture Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd. (BST) has been awarded a contract from China State Railway to supply 14 eight-car Class CR300AF EMUs. This contract worth 1.6 billion CNY (around 209 million EUR) is BST’s first one for the new generation of high-speed trains with a top speed of 250 km/h.
They are scheduled for delivery by January 2021, ten are destined for Fujian Fuping Railway and the remaining four for Guangdong Meizhou-Shantou PDL (Passenger Dedicated Line). BST was first chosen to supply the new Chinese standard high speed trains in 2018, and since then it has delivered a total of 448 Class CR400AF and CR400AF-A cars, forming trains with a 350 km/h maximum speed.
