In early April 2025, DT-Výhybkárna a strojírna (DTVS) has successfully completed a major order for Network Rail. As part of the contract with Trackwork Ltd., the company has produced a total of 86 turnout tongues (a Type 54E1A1/56E1 profile). DTVS executes orders for UK as a fully certified supplier meeting the demanding standards for the infrastructure there.

The deliveries are made in cooperation with Trackwork Ltd., a certified manufacturer of turnouts for the British market, with which the cooperation began in 2018. In order for DTVS products to meet the stringent standards required for the UK market, several key steps had to be taken. The company developed and tested a special die for the 54E1A1/56E1 profile forging. This die was designed to enable precision manufacturing to meet the specifications of British rail standards, which in some aspects exceed EN standards.

Dušan Kadlec, Sales Director of DTVS, said: "A key point of the project was the homologation of our manufacturing processes and testing of our products on site on UK network, including stations such as London Bridge, Holloway and Leeds East. After a successful six-month test operation in 2023, we have received full certification from Network Rail for the 54E1A1/56E1 turnout tongue profile. This confirms the quality and reliability of our products for use on the UK rail network and opens the door to further potential deliveries in the future."

DTVS is now working on the homologation of another key profile, 60E1A1/60E2, which represents a significant technological challenge. DTVS plans to complete the development of the special forging dies and conduct tests in the UK and Czech Republic in order to launch this product in other markets.

DTVS expects a record volume of new orders in 2025. A large share is made up of international projects, with both new and traditional customers. In Germany, one of the company's key export markets, the value of orders currently exceeds 6.6 million EUR. In addition, the company will also supply other countries - Sweden, Italy, Canada, Portugal, the Netherlands and traditionally Slovakia. In total, DTVS has concluded contracts worth more than 60 million EUR this year, of which export orders account for about a third.

In September 2024, DTVS successfully introduced the first Czech high-speed turnout, which allows trains to run at speeds of up to 350 km/h in the straight direction and 230 km/h when changing tracks. This product, the result of the company's own research and development, is a key contribution to the future Czech high-speed rail infrastructure.
