In recent years, the Hungarian national operator has been trying to renew its fleet of locomotives. However, within the limits of its financial possibilities and after the framework contract for 115 Vectrons was not converted into reality, it is currently not about acquiring new-built locomotives, but about securing leases of different types of machines from different lessors.
After the Type ES 64 U2 Tauruses from Akiem and Astride locomotives from the same pool, and the ME ex-DSB diesels leased from the Swedish leasing company Nordic Re-Finance, there are now also three Vectrons from the ELL pool. The first of these, 193 214, arrived in Hungary at the end of January.
