Two More Class TEM18DM Shunters For Mongolia

On 3 February 2021, BMZ sent TEM18DM-3289 and 3290 locomotives to UBTZ (Ulaanbaatar Tomor Zam, Ulaanbaatar Railway). This batch forms part of the contract signed in 2019, providing a total of 10 Class TEM18DM and 14 Class 2TE25KM diesel locomotives.
BMZ also organises training courses for the drivers and maintenance personnel. However, on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, 87 specialists from Mongolia finished their coursework and passed the necessary exams online.
With TEM18DM-3289 and 3290, five shunters have been delivered to UBTZ so far. For Class 2TE25KM, ten locomotives were sent to the operator. The remaining machines will be sent to Mongolia in 2021.
