TRAXX For 200 km/h At Velim

On 13 March 2023, the electric locomotive 188 005 arrived at the VUZ Velim test centre. It is a TRAXX3 MS machine, whose bogies were modified for 200 km/h, in connection with the first order of Alstom (or originally Bombardier Transportation) for TRAXXes with this maximum speed. The customer is SNCB, which signed a framework contract with Alstom on 1 February 2022 for the delivery of up to 50 machines, of which 24 have been confirmed at the same time. Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2026.
