Tests of RegioJet's TRAXXes around Olomouc

On 24 October 2024, test runs of RegioJet locomotives 388.216 and 219 took place in and around Olomouc for the RSC (Radio System Compatibility) tests related to ETCS. Both TRAXXes performed a total of 18 pairs of test runs on the Olomouc - Štěpánov trunk line and 12 pairs of test runs on the Olomouc - Bohuňovice section (towards Uničov). The machines ran simultaneously and exchanged each other on the sections in question.

The locomotive 388.219 comes from the newest sextet for RJ Pool and is now waiting for all the conditions set by the Czech Railway Authority Drážní úřad for the start of test operation to be fulfilled. This is because in view of the preparation and test running of the TRAXX3 MS type locomotive under ETCS supervision with EbiCab OBUs, they will not be put into service directly under the approval for the previously delivered Class 388.2 locomotives.
