Testing of the new Class ES104 Lastochka has entered its final phase

On 27 October 2023 UL completed acceptance and certification testing of the new Class ES104 EMUs. Traction-energy, dynamic and braking tests of the new class were carried out on the VNIIZhT circuit at Shcherbinka. The effectiveness of the anti-slip and anti-skid protection and the vehicle's function at increased and decreased supply voltage were also tested. 

The impact of the Class ES104s on the tracks, especially in curves with a radius of 350 m, and on the switches was tested on the Belorechenskaya polygon. In addition, the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Transport Hygiene (VNIIZhG, Moscow) carried out hygiene and chemical tests on the train. All the results obtained were positive.

Currently the plant is starting tests in double traction of five-car EMUs. In November, the „Swallow“ will undergo acceptance by the interdepartmental commission and certification. The UL works will then proceed to deliver the new Lastochkas to the customer. In April 2023, a contract for the delivery of 22 EMUs was signed between RZD and Sinara. The prototype was presented at the INNOPROM-2023 exhibition in July.
