On 26 November 2024, RAILPOOL and Regiorail (No. 5 railway undertaking in terms of railfreight market share in France) signed an agreement for the long-term rental of three TRAXX Universal locomotives with Last Mile diesel module. The agreement is supplemented with an option for additional four locomotives.
Frédérique Erlichman, Director RAILPOOL France says: “We are looking forward to our new partnership with Regiorail, supporting their internationalization by providing powerful modern multi-system locomotives. With this success, Railpool has become a new player in France.”
Brice Devinoy, CEO of Eurorail/Regiorail says: “As we are aiming to expand our services in Europe, the full-service rental of interoperable electric locomotives with Last Mile is just in line with our strategy. The bi-modal capability is also worthwhile for various domestic Regiorail traffic, offering energy efficiency and CO2 emission savings for the sake of our customer’s decarbonizing effort. We chose RAILPOOL because of their technical expertise, their ability to provide spare parts directly from their own comprehensive stock and their service quality commitments.”
Regiorail is part of Eurorail international, a group founded by Belgium investors and now owned in majority by RDC, USA investors specialized in rail markets. Leasing 40 locomotives, operating all over France 150 freight trains a week, short and long distance, conventional or intermodal wagons, blocked-train or multi-Single-Wagon-Load trains for all types of customers in steel, paper, general cargo or cement.
