RAILPOOL Branch Italia And Captrain Italia Signed An Agreement

On 10 November 2020 RAILPOOL Branch Italia announced its official start of operations by signing an agreement to lease six new Class E494 Last Mile 3 kV DC TRAXXes to Captrain Italia, with an option for two more. Simultaneously a partnership agreement was signed between Tiber.co OMR and RAILPOOL Branch Italia for providing the maintenance services on RAILPOOL locomotives. 

Tiber.co OMR is a longstanding maintenance workshop, wholly owned by Captrain Italia, based in Asti. It is active on the market in an independent and neutral role, serving the main operators. RAILPOOL will provide training and spare parts to Tiber.co OMR to realise maintenance of the RAILPOOL fleet in its Asti depot, which will become one of the main maintenance hubs of RAILPOOL in the country.

The new locomotives will start their operations in January 2021 and will be used by Captrain in the domestic Italian market. Torsten Lehnert, RAILPOOL CEO said: „I want to thank Captrain Group for the trust expressed in our company.
