One of the Vectrons at InnoTrans was a locomotive designated 248 500 in the colours of DB long-distance vehicles. This dual-power machine represented an order announced at InnoTrans 2022 for 21 Vectron Dual Modes to be used by DB Fernverkehr to haul the Talgo 230 (ICE L) NMUs on non-electrified lines.

In the case of this exhibit, however, it was just a Siemens test locomotive built in 2022. Later the locomotive was also equipped with MIREL VZ 1 and has been staying at the Velim test base for a long time, where she should return again. Before InnoTrans it was put into DB livery to commemorate the contract in question. Production of locomotives from this batch will begin next year.
