On 6 May 2014 ČD put its first ČD Railjet train, formed of ÖBB’s 1216 233 and a rake of stock with driving trailer 73 54 80-91 001, into passenger service. The inaugural run formed IC 571 „Zdeněk Fibich“ from Praha to Břeclav. On subsequent days the ČD Railjet is to be used for the IC 572/573 „Brněnský Drak“ train pair between Brno and Praha. Then the second train will join it between Praha and Brno, and mid-June, both will be transferred to train pairs EC 72/73 and EC 74/75, continuing to Wiener Neustadt.
The second photo shows ČD’s General Director, Daniel Kurucz (on the left), ÖBB Personenverkehr board member Birgit Wagner and Czech Siemens’s Rail Systems Division and Mobility and Logistics Division Director, Roman Kokšal, holding the symbolic "key" to the new train. The last photo in the sequence shows the ČD Railjet forming IC 571, near Opatov.
