On 31 March 2025, Koleje Mazowieckie and Stadler have signed an agreement for 14 FLIRT EMUs. This is the third of four executive contracts set out in the framework agreement signed in June 2024. The first units from this batch are expected to be delivered within 24 months. In addition to train deliveries, it includes an 18-year maintenance contract.

KM already operates a total of 71 FLIRTs: 10 purchased under a 2006 contract and 61 as part of a framework agreement from 2018. In 2024, the operator ordered additional 50 trains, which are currently being produced. All units are being manufactured at Stadler Polska’s plant in Siedlce. This latest order will see Stadler supply Koleje Mazowieckie with a total of 64 newest FLIRT EMUs over the next few years.

Robert Stępień, CEO of Koleje Mazowieckie, said: "Thanks to funds obtained from the European Funds for Mazovia 2021 - 2027 program, we are signing another executive contract. Including the contracts already signed, KM will acquire 64 five-car FLIRTs. Our goal for the coming years is to purchase as many as 75 of these vehicles. This is not only an investment in modern rolling stock but also in the future of the entire region. Modern trains significantly improve the travel experience of the passengers who use our services. As one of the most modern regional operators in Poland, we strive to maintain the highest standards."

The five-car train can carry 600 passengers, of them 279 seated. The 160 km/h units are equipped with ETCS Level 2 on-board units. The new FLIRTs will operate on all routes served by KM, i. e. to Siedlce, Łowicz, Skierniewice, Radom and Działdowo. If eleven more units will be ordered, KM will in total operate 146 FLIRTs.
