TRAXX Last Mile Visits Turkey

TRAXX F140AC LM 187 009, which wears DB livery, but which has so far been used by Bombardier for test purposes, recently made a journey from Hungary to Turkey, at the head of the Rail Cargo Group’s regular Duisburg to Tekirdag freight, operated together with the Turkish forwarding company BALO. TRAXX took over haulage of the train at Sopron on 8 November 2014 and reached the port of Tekirdag on the 12th. 187 009 demonstrated its Last Mile capabilities on a 20 km stretch of line following a power cut which affected the supply to the catenary.
