TRAXX Last Mile Machines On Test

Following in the tracks of 187 001, TRAXX AC3 LM 187 003 reached the Velim test centre in early May. Both are expected to stay there until the end of July 2013. On 15 and 16 May test runs, using only the Last Mile diesel engine, were made with a rake of loaded coal hoppers, giving a trailing weight of over 2,000 t. This was the first time that these TRAXXes had been put to such a challenge. Here we see 187 003 on the large test circuit on 16 May hauling the test freight. Also visible are some of the other locomotives, including 380.015, Vectron 193 902 and Taurus 183 714, which were also visiting Velim at that time.
