On 30 July 2024, Metrovagonmash delivered to the Republic of Belarus the first Type Minsk 2024 metro train (Models 81-765.7/766.7) for operation in the Minsk Metro. Six more unit are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2024.
The contract for seven four-car trains was signed between MVM and Minsk Metro in March 2023. The cars were developed by TMH Inzhiniring (Engineering, TMHI). The design of the cars includes the use of components manufactured by Belarusian companies. The trains were designed for operation on Zelenoluzhskaya line, where platform doors are used. For precise alignment of the train door openings and platform doors, its intermediate cars are shortened in length by 140 mm, and end cars by 70 mm.
All cars of each train are motorised, the maximum speed is 90 km/h, installed are asynchronous traction motors of Russian production. The exterior of the Minsk 2024 train features a unique design and corporate colours of Minsk Metro. On the front of the end car, an evacuation ladder is installed, which allows to safely descend into the tunnel in case of an emergency situation. The cars are equipped with widened doorways (1,400 mm) and through inter-car gangways (up to 1,500 mm wide). The passenger compartments have ergonomic seats made of hard-wearing soft fabric (41 seats in end cars and 44 in intermediate cars). The service life of metro cars is 30 years.
Metrovagonmash has been co-operating with Minsk metro since the underground was opened in 1984. Currently, 346 cars manufactured at TMH enterprises are in operation in the underground of the Belarusian capital.
