New TRAXXes For RJ

On 3 September 2019 Bombardier Transportation has signed a contract to provide 15 TRAXX MS3 locomotives to RegioJet. This is the first order of the new TRAXX MS3 locomotives for passenger service. The contract includes options for additional tens of locomotives and the first application of Bombardier’s new online spare parts ordering tool.
The new locomotives will be used on domestic and cross-border services, taking into account new operations on lines such as Brno - Ostrava - Bohumín and the extension of services to Hungary as of June 2020. The start of deliveries is expected in 2020. The new contract is based on a frame agreement from 2017 for eight TRAXX MS2 locomotives, of whose four were ordered.
